Arkansas Oklahoma Gas Provides $10K Donation to Moffett School

FORT SMITH, Arkansas – Arkansas Oklahoma Gas Corporation (AOG) is proud to contribute $10,000 towards the flood recovery efforts at Moffett School. The school was destroyed by historic flooding in May of this year, and recovery efforts began almost as soon as the waters receded. Swift action by the state and federal governments, combined with tremendous community support, have helped prepare the school for classes this fall. Recently, a group of AOG employees utilized volunteer time off (VTO) to clean and ready the school. Finally, with a literal blessing from a Pennsylvania-based nonprofit, God’s Pit Crew, the school was able to reopen for the school year with only a one-week delay.

“At AOG, being a good friend and neighbor to our customers and the communities we serve is at the heart of what we do”, said Fred Kirkwood, Senior Vice President – Customer Development. “We are committed to supporting future generations through charitable donations, community sponsorships and energy efficiency programs”.

This is the second contribution AOG has given in support of flood recovery efforts, with the first being a $10,000 check in June to the United Way of Ft. Smith River Valley Disaster Services campaign.

About Arkansas Oklahoma Gas

We provide natural gas to approximately 60,000 residential, commercial, industrial and agricultural customers in Arkansas and Oklahoma. We've been serving the people in Fort Smith and the surrounding area with safe and reliable service for nearly 75 years.

Based in Fort Smith in the heart of the Arkoma Basin, this area is rich in natural gas production. That gives us the ability to access and transport natural gas produced from local wells. These local supplies, in combination with our ability to obtain natural gas from interstate pipelines, enable us to provide reliable natural gas service to all our customers.

In 2017, AOG joined a larger group of natural gas utilities when it combined with Summit Utilities, Inc. This added expertise to the team, as well as additional financial resources for ongoing growth and investments to protect the integrity and safety of AOG's natural gas system.

We take pride in being your local natural gas provider and look forward to continuing to serve families and businesses throughout the Fort Smith region for decades to come.
