ITS IMPORTANT TO READ ENERGY GUIDE LABELS!
When youre shopping for a new appliance, its especially important to know how
to read and understand the Energy Guide label. Thats the yellow
and black label prominently displayed on all new appliancesgas or
electric. The figures on the Energy Guide label are from the United States
Department of Energy and give you the expected yearly cost for that appliance.
For example, if youre shopping for a water heater, a gas water heater
can actually save you over $200 per year, compared to an electric heater.
Gas costs less!
